Karadi Tales Bilingual is a series of specially scripted stories which serves as a powerful tool for language learning. Here the child experiences the story first in his or her first language, and the same story exposure is given in English (the second language) subsequently.
The text in two languages English and Hindi or Tamil, placed side by side allows instant cross reference between the languages. The stories written in prose and verse, are resplendent with simple songs and exciting music giving the child an opportunity to not only listen but also participate in the reading process. The script in prose and verse with little songs, the music and background score and illustrations are specially crafted to enable intuitive language learning processes.
Using this series, a Hindi/Tamil speaking can become fluent in English or an English speaking child can become fluent in Hindi/Tamil Narrated in English by Saeed Jaffrey, in Hindi by Tom Alter and in Tamil by Nasser, the narration brings the stories alive and also provides excellent models of pronunciation.
Introduced as the Karadi Path to language learning, about 5000 children from 30 schools from the Chennai, Chengalpattu and Kanchipuram districts use the Karadi Tales Bilingual (Tamil /English) as a means of learning English.
In fact, the Karadi Path as a concept can make the learning of any second language far more effective, easier and meaningful.
